The group was set up to bring together developers with a common interest in PHP and related technologies and to form a basis for effective PHP advocacy in Nepal. It is a community site for people to get together and get to know one another. It is about community and friendship. If you consider yourself part of the PHP community, you are encouraged to take part! If you're interested in assisting with the group (administratively, as a potential speaker at meetings, or sponsoring hosting or anything else you can think of) please either email the list. NetBeans 6.5 beta promises PHP simplicity

Sun Microsystems has taken another step in its long journey towards greater support of open source by delivering the first beta of its next crop of NetBeans.

Propel 1.3 uses PDO instead of Creole

In a move to increase performance and take advantage and support new PHP features, Propel 1.3 uses the native PDO database abstraction layer. This change has a number of implications, particularly for those who are executing SQL directly. PDO’s API is loosely similar to Creole’s, so this change shouldn’t require any major re-architecture.
New Features

The new features in Propel 1.3 that will affect upgrading are:

* New PHP minimum requirements
* Use of PDO instead of Creole
* New DSN format for build and runtime properties

PHP 5.3 alpha1 released!

The PHP development team is proud to announce the first alpha release of the upcoming minor version update of PHP. Windows binaries will be available starting with alpha2 (intermediate snapshots available at snaps.php.net).

Zend annouced "ZendCon 2008!"

Zend has annouced the 4th Annual Zend/PHP conference, which will be held on September 15-18, 2008 in Santa Clara, California and will bring together PHP developers and business managers from around the world for three days of exceptional presentations and networking events. The theme of this year’s conference is “High Impact PHP” and sessions will explore the many ways that developers are delivering breakthrough business advantages with their PHP applications. Dojo and Zend Framework Partnership Announcement

The Zend Framework team is excited to announce a partnership between Dojo and Zend Framework. The goal is to deliver an out-of-the-box solution for building Ajax-based Web applications with Zend Framework. This is mainly targeted at users who rely on us to provide them with a best practice and an out-of-the-box experience for Ajax and don't want to have to deal with evaluating a solution (e.g. toolkits, licenses, etc.).
